Anna and her husband, Mike, have 2 amazing married daughters and 3 awesome grandsons! Oh, and 2 pretty cool sons-in-law. This family dynamic makes them empty-nesters, and they love calling North Carolina home. Managing a local performing arts center box office keeps Anna occupied part of the time, then there is her work with Power of Moms, a website that promotes and supports deliberate mothers –which isn‘t really work! She also volunteers with the Board of Directors of her local Smart Start Partnership, helping provide resources for families to help their kids, ages Birth to 5, be prepared for Kindergarten.
As a 1980 graduate from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Home and Family Development, Anna has found numerous ways to apply her degree in her family, community, and her work with this food blog, which she has enjoyed very much. Here are some of her favorite recipes from Mormon Mavens:
Chopstick Tuna Casserole — cool note on this. When I posted this recipe I got a comment from someone who had also grown up with this recipe as a child. Her mother got the recipe from a women’s meeting at Church–just like my Mom!
Lunch Lady Brownies — Just make some. You will know.
Three-Cheese Roasted Vegetables — So delicious. Every time I serve these I get rave reviews. A thought: It’s called Three-Cheese but it calls for a 4-cheese blend. Just sayin’.
As a pretty much lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (she was 2 when her parents joined the church), Anna continues to strengthen her testimony of the Book of Mormon, her Savior, Jesus Christ, and the doctrines and organizations that provide peace and joy in this crazy, mixed up world.
A few of Anna’s favorite things:

- cooking/eating
- Working out
